The shareholders of Caler, Donten, Levine, Porter & Veil, P.A. are pleased to announce that Louis M. Cohen has been admitted as an equity owner of the Firm and the Firm’s name will changed to Caler, Donten, Levine, Cohen, Porter & Veil, P.A.

Lou joined the Firm in 1990 and currently serves as the Firm’s President, a member of the Executive Committee and heads the Firm’s tax department.

Lou provides tax, compliance and consulting services for high net-worth individuals, pass-through entities and privately owned businesses, including extensive experience with clients in the restaurant and hospitality industries.

New Employees/Hires

We are pleased to announce that Edith (Edie) H. Madson, CPA/ABV/CFF has joined the Firm as its Director of Business Valuation and Litigation Support Services.

With more than 14 years of experience, Madson is a certified public accountant, accredited in business valuation and certified in financial forensics. At Caler, Donten, Levine, Porter & Veil, P.A., she will be responsible for providing business valuation and litigation support services to our clients.

Madson’s public accounting experience includes valuing closely-held businesses including family limited partnerships, and performing forensic accounting in matrimonial matters. Her additional experience in forensic work includes asset tracing and fraud investigation, and she has performed economic damages calculations for wrongful death, corporate disputes, wrongful termination and personal injury.

“Edie’s addition allows our Firm to continue to grow and offer more specialized services to those needing a seasoned individual dedicated solely to business valuations and litigation support services,” said Louis M. Cohen, President of Caler, Donten, Levine, Porter & Veil, P.A. “Her skills, experience and credentials will be beneficial to many professional advisors in this community, especially those practicing in the areas of Estates and Gift taxation and divorce litigation. We are very pleased to have her on our team.”

Madson received her B.A. in Accounting and Business Administration from the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina.  She is a certified public accountant in both Florida and South Carolina, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Community Involvement

Toys for Tots Collection

In December 2011, Caler, Donten, Levine, Porter & Veil, P.A. employees collected nearly 450 toys for the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation during a month-long drive. Employees from Jones, Foster, Johnston & Stubbs, P.A. also participated in the collection drive.
